HLTAID009 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

  • Unit Being Delivered

    HLTAID009 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

    + ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins

    Pre-course study: Students may be required to undertake online pre-course work prior to attending the face to face session depending on the course delivery mode.

    Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

    + COURSE DURATION - 2 OPTIONS

    Option 1 Face to Face minimum duration – 2 hours.

    Option 2 - Online with Face to Face Assessment.

    Minimum duration - 20 minutes.

    + ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

    Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

    Certificates will require renewal after 12 months

    Simulated First Aid Scenario – Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)

    Perform CPR on an infant

    Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

  • The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is the course you need in a workplace; to get or keep a job or if you simply want to know what to do in the case of an emergency. This First Aid training course is nationally recognised and includes CPR training.

    Unit Being Delivered

    HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid

    HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support

    HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

    + COURSE DURATION 2 OPTIONS

    Option 1 Face to Face – 7.5 hours full face to face course, and the Provide First Aid Refresher 3 yearly renewal .

    This course is recommended for first-timers and is also more suitable for students who want a deeper understanding of First Aid than what the 4 hour short course offers.

    To attend the 1 day option, all students are required to complete some simple 'online' homework before attending training for 7 1/2 hours with our trainer. The 'online' homework takes around 90 minutes to complete.

    Option 2 Online Training with Face to Face Assessment

    60 minutes (minimum) face to face assessment with the addition of 6 hours of self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course. The certification is the same.

    This course suits those who don't have the time to attend a 7 hour course, and also for students who've completed the course numerous times and already have a good understanding of First Aid.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

  • This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

    The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

    This unit of competency will contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulation (2011).

    This unit of competency has been approved by ACECQA and meets the requirements of “First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis”.

    This First Aid training course is nationally recognised and includes CPR training.

    Option 1 - Face to Face – 9 hours (minimum) full face to face course.

    Option 2 - Online Training with Face to Face Assessment- self paced online learning with a scheduled 60 minutes (minimum) face to face practical assessment.

    Option 3 - Refresher training – 7 hours (minimum) face to face course – conditions apply for this option, for example, you will need to provide previous current certificates.

    + ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

    Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

    + CERTIFICATE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

    The certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 3 years.

    Recommended renewal dates for included competencies are listed separately on the certificate. For example CPR is 12 months
